Is it off or of?upid

Some of you people need to be properly educated.

It is OFF when used in the following context.

For example: I would order 30 sheets of paper. But only need a few at a time. So, I would write my requision for '5 off' and 'off' would mean 'off my previously reserved quantity of 30, leaving 25 to draw at some later time'.

Oh okay.

My utmost apologies everyone. I was referring to spoken English and general usage of the term. Not the term used in specific business practices, or specific fields of work.

Sorry :(

I've got to admit this confused me when I first came across this (in college) but now working in construction "off" is always used for instance on Take off Sheets

:(

Using 'of' and 'off'' in the wrong places is probably the only type of incorrect grammar that really grinds my gears.

Also, when that guy from Radio 1 says "that was <name> off of <location>".

Eugh

I like Scott Mills (Radio 1), but I HATE it when he says this. All the people that call/write in say it as well, like it's cool to be like him.
