*** OCUK WORST GAME OF 2010 ***

Guessing these people who are complaining about Catacalysm were bought up on the brain dead no skill AoE fest that was WotLK and are suddenly outraged that they actually now require to display some level of skill and patience to progress through the latest expansion...
Good riddance to them tbh.

Actually my first toons were a Pala tank and Dudu healer, followed by Hunter & Shaman DPS, it's nothing to do with skill or patience, I've no quests left in any area (apart from CoC and that's an abortion of bugs atm) so the only thing I have left to do is gear up and the only gear I can get that's an improvement is either from HC's/Raiding (and our guild isn't ready for Cata raiding yet) or paying 10's of thousands in the AH.

It really does take a special kind of retard to think that a 40+ minute wait is perfectly acceptable.

I haven't bought many games which have been released this year. I've either stuck to games I already own or games which have been released in past years.

But, even though it pains me to say it because I was such a fan of the first one, it's got to be Mafia 2. No proper Free-Ride mode, pretty lacking in the story-line department, infact the story-line didn't really seem to end that well at all. Too many DLCs to try and keep people entertained, content which should have been in the game from the start in my opinion. Some annoying bugs.

It's not that bad really but it's the worst game I've bought this year.

Black ops stil doesn't play on my PC the game was the most unfinished product I've seen since CONAN.

I'm gonna have to stump with AvP. There were obviously, as mentioned in the thread, games during the year that were just plain atrocious -- but nothing gave me more of a deflated feeling than AvP.

Sorry, but I just gotta say this: I don't have a disappointing game this year, in fact the year has been exceptionally good, one of the best up to now.

Saying that though, I must admit that I haven't played a single game listed in this thread but loads of others. Lucky me. :D

(Well, apart from Just Cause 2, which is absolutely brilliant, but we can't all have the same taste).

JC2 is both brilliant, and utterly awful at the same time, its fun, but insanely repetitive, the same way Assasins creed is a great idea, and fun but long winded doing the same thing over and over in the same feeling locations.

Technologically, its stunning, it runs great, loads instantly on the other side of the map, all while looking pretty damn great for what it is, with from what I recall pretty bug free terraine which is rare on a map that size.

For size, engine, efficiency, load times, and general fun its awesome, story is a bit meh, dialogue painful to listen to and corney as heck but, still good enough to be an altogether good game.

That engine used for a much better story would have been something fantastic.

Plays fine on mine... sure it was a little buggy on release... BUT, I can't think of 1 new release i have had this year that wasn't.

Fallout NV still keeps crashing out randomly but I'll live with it. Long gone are the days when games work 100% on release.

I'm half tempted to say Black Ops. On the gameplay side of things, it's fine, as I expected it to be. Likewise for the frame rates I'm getting.

But the game is broken to hell. I have NEVER had a game randomly crash this much. I've got it installed on two separate PCs, one with an Nvidia card, the other ATI. It crashes:

During start up.
Changing the game resolution.
Changing other graphics settings
Whilst 'connecting' to the central server.
Whilst coming out of the menu to change your equipment.
At one point (which caused me to stop playing last month entirely), the game would last 4, maybe 5 rounds, then freeze and lock up. Never more than 5 matches before it died on me.

Then of course, for several weeks until it was patched, it would time out when I tried to do online zombies. Plus the horrible lag that stuck around until that was sorted.

Just loaded it up today, and behold, it crashed on me again when I changed the screen resolution. Promptly deleted it from my HDD.

Biggest let down? AVP easily. Loading up that demo and being utterly shocked by how bad the demo was put me off the actual game, despite Sega claiming the final release was a lot better (subsequently reviewed as meh by many!).

That pretty much sums it up for me, with FFXIV winning it overall. If you haven't named FFXIV, then you haven't played it.

i would say the same thing about c&c 4! but in fairness, i think i've read enough reviews of FFX14 to realise it's a definite contender and pretty damn shocking in its own right!

Call of duty Black ops worst performance issues on launch and now payable map pack :(

Wish i could enjoy that game.

My submission is Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. For all the good having Captain Piccard to tickle my cochlea did i found the gameplay so shockingly button-mash tastic i didnt bother playing past the first level.

Button mashing + bosses/mini bosses with insane healthy for no good reason other than to draw fights into a whole new level of RSI inducing fail.

Shocked to see so many people posting Black Ops as the worst game. Truelly I am anything but a fanboy of the COD series, much prefer CS and TF2 but I really enjoed Black Ops :S.

Most let down for me has to be AVP :(. No other game have I ever wanted to do so well and it fell at almost every hurdle
