***The Official Gran Turismo 5 Thread***

Skylines are terrible for drifting, someone's been watch to many Fast and Furious movies :P (One is too many)

First one is acceptable, surely?! :D

They require completely different driving styles, with the ZR1 you have to, above all else, be smooth and wait until you get the car relatively straight and pointed in the direct you want to go, THEN plant you foot. As you get used to it you can apply part throttle earlier and earlier. The skyline on the other hand allows you to plant your foot whenever you want and all you get is nice safe understeer, then lots of acceleration. Once you get used to the ZR1 you should be faster in it

I'll try and be a bit more restricted, thanks for the tips.

Which was the one were the police had the missile/clamp EMP thingy that fired into the door and killed the cars ECU. Because its a commonly known fact that most cars ECU's are kept in the doors :p That was terrible

Then they put a Jap engine in a Mustang, which is blasphemy for both car and engine.

I don't even remember what 4 was about but I remember a tanker jack-knifing and exploding having jumped over the car our hero was in....

And they're bringing out a 5th film. Yay  :p

Back on topic. Smoothness is key with anything FR or MR, you can be more aggressive with FF and 4WD and they're more forgiving to that :)

Have a look at the highstreet store that sells all its stuff from a catalogue, I got one in September for £80 :)

Yeah, that's around how much it was on Amazon (~89 iirc) when I first looked (month or so before GT5 was due out). Now it's more like £125 :( I live in a small town too so no stores that sell stuff like that nearby, though I'm relatively close to Peterborough so I guess I could head over there at a pinch if I can't find anything decent online.

Don't they do home deliveries? I'm deliberately picking home delivery to laugh at the poor couriers as they try to get anywhere near my house. Is that cruel? :p I had Tesco home delivery sat on my drive for about 30 minutes earlier because its just fractionally too steep to get up easily :D :p

Dunno, I don't actually know of any places that even do catalogue stuff around here. I'd have to take a look online and check.

Also: "Is that cruel?". Yes. But also lots of fun :D

I'm having problems playing online.

I can join games, and have a 'free run' while waiting for the race to start, assoon as the race timer gets to 0 ready to start the race, the screen goes blank as if it's getting ready to load the grid/race.....but it just hangs there.

I can hear the background music etc but it just doesn't load the race!!

Any ideas? My ps3 is connected at 14mb down and 2mb up, low latency as well.

Well, managed to get my ranking up from 50000+ to 13205 so far :) Now to try for sub 10000.

edit: after changing car I'm now at ~4978 :D
