Hi all,

Just got a call to say the guys from bmw are picking the car up but it doesn't have the 108's on it as specified :(

(promised everything would be fine and as specified, I knew I should have at least asked for pics)

What exactly are these and how should I respond, I really wanted the 108's they were quite a big part in me choosing the car...

Must admit i like those multi spoke ones better than the 5 spoke 108s, what car they going on?

Looking at that the 5 spokes do look better.

What they going to do about it ?

Waiting a phone call to tell me, but bmw oxford have two bmw z4's with 108's on in stock, so perhaps they could swap some over assuming the cars haven't sold.

Think maybe I am being hopeful on the above, but I'm not accepting the car without 108's on it.

Porsche will swap wheels about from unsold cars i cant see why BMW cant.

It has 108's in the description, I put a deposit down on the car as its theoretically perfect for me (at least it was) so they could buy it from another BMW dealership on the other side of the country. I saw the car in the coming soon list so it didn't even have photos, but I asked a million questions and have seen the cars history etc and have assurances that its perfect.

Clearly the muppet that put the info into the computer clicked the wrong button, or they have taken the wheels from the car for another car?

Im not to worried at the moment as they know my opinion I'm just waiting for them to find a resolution really.

Well if they have paid for the car on the strength of your deposit im sure they will resolve it, they aint going to want you backing out over a set of wheels.

Those look like style 207 which are fitted to the 1 series, but the centre bit isn't quite right.

EDIT: The most similar wheel i can find is style 225, which is 19x8" ET37 front and 19x8.5" ET39 rear.

I think you are MASSIVELY brave buying this car unseen, without even seeing pictures. I'd go so far as to say its very foolish. I've seen NUMEROUS AUC cars with all manner of marks, scratches, wear, etc etc on them.

You really have to view these things first - I found my parents Z4 at a main dealer 200 miles away - I still went all the way up, twice, both to view it and collect it.

I wouldnt recommend you do it any other way. Remember that a dealers idea of a 'good condition' car can often be quite different to your own. And they seem to consider anything fair game on some cars.

Worst I've seen is a 335i, 3 years old, but with several noticeable scratches and paint that looked like it had been washed with a scouring pad.

AUC is a great idea because the warranty is great but dont be fooled into thinking they are all minters. Condition is as variable as any other used car.
