Now, I know that there is a lot wrong in that article but I have 1 question only:

Are there any legal loan providers that will give a loan when the only income the person receives is from benefits?

The article states that she has taken a £1500 personal loan, if this is legally provided then I am shocked.
reading the article I'd imagine it was a private lender, door-to-door type

'I don’t want to have to say to the kids, “You can’t have that”. It’s not fair and I’m not going to do it.’

Funny how the working families manage to do this all the time, we would all love to give what is requested to our loved ones, she needs to learn to say No and not just to the kids...!!! Why do we allow these breeders to continue to breed when they contribute nothing to society???

Yes.

Credit Unions give loans to those on benefits.

They are legal in operation.

What they then do in effect is get the proposer to direct benefit payments to their CU account, so that the CU can remove their installment and pass on the rest of the benefit to their customer.

It has to work that way because of the demographic of the people involved, without trying to hit out with sweeping generalisations.

It would be very high risk lending were it not for the re-arrangement of benefit payment.

Benefit cheats one would assume, as she says she's legitimately entitled to the benefits she gets

Yep, she's referring to benefit cheats "doing the double".

However, her general attitude still irks me - for example how she continually refers to "her" money that she "deserves".

There are far too many working families out there that can't afford to give their kids half of what they want, never mind designer gear, while people like this are just handed ridiculous amounts.

What are you suggesting? Kill them all? :p

Ah, I see - she doesn't seem to be very thankful for this money she's getting - just think she deserves it

Numerous ways to get a loan when your only income is benefits.

One used extensively in these parts is by way of Credit Unions (where they may require a portion of your benefit payments paid directly to them to pay off the loan) - and you usually need some savings with them too - which can't be touched until the loan is paid off.

Also, "I've have to earn £30k to get what i do on benefits"

Well, we have to work up to that level, to get that money in the first place, so why are people any different?

Ah I see, thanks :) . It's quite wrong that "we" should be funding a loan imo.

Because she's entitled to benefits, as far as she's concerned she can't get a job without losing out on money so why should she. It's a stupid situation, but unfortunately it's how the system works.
