5850 Or 6850

Okay guys you can stop now :p, My friend ordered a MSI 5850 after the reading the thread, now I just got to get him to overclock it :p

Thanks for the advice/opinions! :D

This battle reminds me of the 5770 vs 4870 all over again.

The 4870 had better performance, but the 5770 had DX11, huge power savings and was a smaller card.

Er, ok, perhaps it's a closer battle than that one! I just feel the 5850 edges this for current gaming at £125, but the 6850 is no slouch and will be a great option going forward once the 5850 offers dry up.

lol who's getting owned in this thread because their argument does not hold up at all. You have been told the facts, you should just drop it, it's bordering on trolling.

I've posted benchies

I have highlighted the advantages of the 6850

I have backed up my claims.

What have you done?

Told people that any PSU with one PCI-E connector are crap and...

well thats about it

Where are all the benchmarks showing the 5850 destroying the 6850?

eh?

You can't resort to calling someone a troll because they are far superior to debate than you.Thats just ......well...Trolling! :D

Yeah showing the 5850 faster lol. It's faster and cheaper than the 6850, has a better cooler, it's a no-brainer.

Oh yeah free game with the 5850 as well, damn what a deal.

enough to have two in CF without the need for a massive PSU and actually beat 5850 in CF in the process,

another 60w under load is not a massive increase for two cards, and anybody sensible would own a psu with at least 150-200w in reserve for whatever rig they intend to power, in which case that 60w is...nothing.

considering the average 6870Cf pc pulls 400-450w (from the wall, but not overclocked, of course), its pretty clear a massive psu isnt needed at all, isnt it?

poor answer.
