Gibbo, go and investigate a TTRS for a weekend or something. They sound truly fantastic and they're so easily moddable. However, warranties seem to be an issue...
Whilst is all good fun laughing at Haldex and the fact it's a Golf, but who here has actually driven one?

Whats to drive one for, he will do his ****** in depreciation for a car thats not even on the same page as the others on his list.

Too young for me mate, I prefer yummy mummys :p

(That doesn't mean grannys before anyone starts)

You should have met a friend of mine who owned one! Late 30s......was quite something! :D

Sold it because she didn't feel she was doing it justice and was moving abroad. "I've only had it up to 180 three times this year".

-sighs-

Marry me :D

if you stalk me via the internet you might be right in thinking I only have one pair of jeans, my mate just pointed out I'm always wearing the same ones :(

There's different generations of Haldex.

They're on their fourth now, and the fifth is due in 2012.

I've found sources that state the cars i mentioned had the 4th Gen Haldex. Not sure which other cars in the VW / Audi group have 4th Gen Haldex. eg. the Latest S3 doesn't apparently, so not being sure didnt state any others.

Which gen do range rover products use?....

hahahahahaha everytime i see that stupid foldup screen I wet myself - worst attempt at slick looking technology ever!!

I had the shiney black finish in mine

I've mentioned Haldex quite a bit in this thread, but from what i've read the 4th Gen Haldex system isnt actually that bad.

It can send from 0 up to 100 % of the drive to the rear if required, and it also has a neat little trick that it's more rear drive biased when in first, than in the other gears in order to aid traction on lift off. Its distributed by a hydraulic mutli disc clutch.

So allthough not quite up there with the systems in the latest STI / Evo its moved on from the old days.
