I've seen a HT-AS5 5.1 system in a Sony shop near me. It's available for £280 with a bluray player (BDPS-373) or it's available from Sony online for £199.

It's for use with my parents' 3DTV and associated 3D bluray player, so the better package for them is probably the £199 without the bluray player.

Is this system any good? It seems very cheap for what it is. Are there any good alternatives that are such bargains? There's no massive rush, they can wait for the sales so is there anything else to look out for? Mum is also quite keep to have some wireless speakers (although not essential, that system doesn't have them.

If you are new to Home Cinema, It'll sound fantastic, that is until you see & hear a more expensive system blow it out of the water, then you'll want that instead.

This is when you have caught the 'upgrade bug' ;)

See what the sales turn up, you never know.

That onkyo is available online for 230 including delivery but I can't say where, check out avforums or the deal websites for info

Would definitely recommend it too. I went from a £200ish Samsung system to the Onkyo and it's infinitely better in every possible way.

I'd also check the number of inputs etc, for instance, if you have Sky+/HD and want DD5.1 audio, it only does it over the Optical connection (only stereo over HDMI), so you'd need an optical input on the system.

I've also heard very good things about the Onkyo Hts-3305, it has plenty of inputs etc, and as people have said, you can get it online for £230..

So it sounds like the ONKYO HTS3305 is the one to go for... Can anyone help me finding where it is £230 though? My Google skills must be weak today, my e-mail is in trust =]
