Mass Effect 2 on the PS3

Just played the demo. Wow. The visuals are stunning and I got sucked straight into the story. The intro movie does well to fill in the gaps from the 1st game and helped me understand some of what happened. Definite buy for me.

Downloading the demo now...

Cant wait. Finally I'll be able to play one of the games Ive so admired!

Hmmm just downloaded the demo last night and I was a bit shocked to see some minor screen tearing in an intro movie.. I'd played Mass Effect 1 on the PC, but yet to play Mass Effect 2.

Ok, intro movie wasn't as smooth as I'd hoped, but once you get to the normandy it really kicks in and the graphics are superb for a games console. I noticed some very minor screen tearing at the very top of the screen, i've seen way, way worse games and this game is using the unreal engine.. PS3 isn't known for being excellent with this engine, so impressive..!!

Bioware did an excellent port to the PS3, the game is very good and i did like the idea of it being on my large screen TV using a pad.. Really good. I might pick this up after all...

Thumbs up from me ...!!

Just tried the demo. It looks the same as the 360 one but with screen tearing which you dont get on 360. Why do a lot of ps3 games suffer bad tearing..?

Because there is no v-sync switched on. If it was enabled, the frame rate would drop.

Unreal engine doesn't perform too well on the PS3, as mentioned if they enabled v sync the framerate would drop too much.. I've heard the 360 version of ME1 and ME2 'does' tear but not as noticable as the 360 has an adaptive v sync or something, I know the 360 version of ME1 did tear but yes the PS3 is prone to tearing.. Quite annoying.

Thing is, I also got Dead space demo and this was sliky smooth and not a single torn frame.. PS3 can, and does have games that run smooth without screen tear.

ME2 in the PS3 isn't as bad as some games I've seen.... Just take look at Assassins Creed 1 for an example of 'very' bad screen tearing.

Very impressed with the demo although slightly unhappy at having no option to invert the x-axis :( Screen tearing doesn't bother me too much.

I cant believe this is full price on the PS3 when it can be had on 360 new for £8. You think they would have revised the price to reflect that its a port of a year old game...

OMG..... I know this is only a demo but I can already tell that Im going to LOVE this game... The demo is tooooooo short.

I like how theyve provided a small summary of the events from Part one.... Still not enough though. I need to know more.

Who is the guy with the cigar. I need to know then entire story of part one LOL.

I need to knowww

He is the Illusive man, And thats pretty much how he stays, he wasnt in the first one. He does have something pretty cool though but i wont spoil it for you (I finished this on 360 allready)

[V MINIOR SPOILER]

His eyes are very Geth/Robot like,+ Way he talks in certain scenes i sense a major back stab in the back in part 3 unless im over thinking it that is.
