Anyone Dislike Christmas?

Traditional Christmasses I enjoy, good food, good company, giving gifts, victorian christmasses etc..

Plastic Fantastic over comercialized rubbish.. I can do without..

As to the whole religious significance, well, its never really meant anything to me, but I understand it.

I think its more a PITA than anything else.

You have to have a party feel happy and merry and have a good time even if you are feeling like ****

Thats what I don't like about. The ticking clock of have a good time........Now!

My day will be fuelled by alcohol to get me through. Champagne at about 11am then eating and drinking for the rest of the day, Bored

I will make the effort to have a good time for my parents sake as its just selfish otherwise, but the whole contrived nonsense of giving presents that nobody wants sucks.

I was in ToysRus few days back and the crap people were buying in there was disgusting really.

Did before but for some reason since I've been with my current girlfriend (didn't like Christmas with my previous girlfriend - to put it in context rather just a random comment) I have found to be quite a pleasant time of year, just to relax and enjoy being together. [/gay]

I like it I suppose. I don't go mental for it like my girlfriend does, but I like buying presents, I like getting presents, I like the fact it gives you a good excuse to see your mates and get drunk more often than usual.

I've had some bad christmaseseseses though which does sort of spoil it a bit though.

I'm only 16 and don't see anything special about it now.

We eat roast dinners every Sunday anyway so having a christmas lunch is hardly any different. We generally go up to see Gran and Grandad in Manchester but aren't this year because of dads heart attack. (going up there is boring anyway because there's just nothing to do)

Still get presents, but we know what we're getting so it's not like being a kid.

I don't even like getting presents tbh

biting my tongue or feeling pressured into lying and saying thanks , just what I wanted ,etc

I think a reason would make for more interesting reading:)

A fair point well made. I think it stems from early childhood, but I don't really remember why. I discussed the issue with a therapist and had a bit of a 'funny turn' and couldn't continue.

All I can say is that I feel very uncomfortable this time of year.

It's totally odd that a hugely massive majority of people have no religious beliefs whatsoever ( and that includes myself ) and yet go absolutely Ape at Christmas forgetting it's supposed to be a Christian festival.
So why do they do it ? why do people who never step foot inside a church and probably have no religious beliefs automatically think their kids have to be Christened.

Myself and family are all atheist but celebrate the arrival of a bloke with a red suit and a long beard so what's your excuse ? :D

I'm not going to enjoy it one little bit this year.
I'm ill, so I really don't fancy going anywhere the way I feel.
Christmas day is planned round my cousins house where my auntie and uncle "won't be giving presents" (born again Christians)
Uncle has already stuck the knife in with " I hope you're not going to be spreading your germs everywhere tomorrow.
Mum has a bloody great chip on her shoulder about the rest of the family.
Ive already upset mother today as it is when she cooked me lunch and I didn't want it.
****ing disaster to be honest.
