Anyone Dislike Christmas?

hate it myself, probably just going to get blind drunk to deal with retarded relatives being all happy and annoying. (im a miserable git :p)

To add to this, I have to endure hours upon hours of crap TV. I detest soaps of any kind, but on Christmas day I have to watch soap after soap. Made even worse due to the fact every soap takes Christmas as an opportunity to make the program extra depressing .

omfg this.. I HATE soaps, and have to endure all of them back to back so i don't look rude and mess off somewhere

Love it to bits, get to spend time with family and friends - I don't think it could be any better really.

Guess it gives some of you lots something to be angry about - time to let go of Sally your school crush to be honest :p

I feel sorry for people who "hate" Christmas :(

If they honestly dont have anyone who they would like to spend a few days off work with getting drunk and eating loads of yummy food, then they have my pity :(

Love it, always have and always will. I find New Year to be massively over hyped, over priced and a massive leg down. I find Christmas to be watt you make of it. If you want to buy into the rampant commercialism then that's upto you.

I love the food, the cooking and the time spent with family away from the rat race.

Short answer, no.

Medium answer.

Food? Is it better than any other roast dinner? Or any posh resturarant?
Gift? I have a job, i buy what i want when i want. Getting something in the name of Christmas? Don't be silly, the only reason i need is that i WANT it.
Family? I don't really get along with my dad, our relationship is better when we are not together in the same room.

The fact that everything shuts also annoys the crap out of me. I work a lot and when i get a day off, i want to go somewhere want to do something, on Christmas day i am stuck in a place where i don't want, doing something i don't want, and can't go anywhere. It is almost like house arrest.

Its not to say that i don't like the idea of chirstmas, or spend it with a girl i love. I would love that, i just don't want to be home. Yesterday i emailed my sister and asked if she's going to be home. She isn't, she is staying with her in-laws. I replied with "lucky you", she replied with, "i am married now, may be you should too", so i wrote back "it'll be expensive but it'll be worth it". There is a slight sarcastic undertone to it but it is also semi serious and with a lot of truth to it.

Besides, there's not going to be a Christmas dinner anyway.

Long answer?

You don't want to hear it.

Do i need therapy? Probably lol

Like i said, i don't need to buy gifts in the name of Christmas, or any other particular day.

I buy things because i want them, i need them.

I buy things for others because i love them whether it is Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.

Most important thing about Christmas is family, well close family, enjoying the day, its like a Sunday with the roast but better, everything goes out the window, life is too short to hate family members, especially today.

Not mine. I am not close to my parents, i am close to my sister and i love her but i don't feels not same for my parents. Dad mainly.

It's complicated, but Christmas is crap for me.

Crap.

Going to spend it working.

Oh, my oven still broken, has been for 18 months. So no roast dinner.

I like the traditions, the food, the drink, decorations and music. I look forward to dinner and even enjoy preparing it, we all chip in and help get it ready. Infact I almost look forward to cold turkey sandwiches more than the main meal. :D

I am blessed with a family that all get on well together so we have no problems with family gatherings, small or large. I don't normally watch TV but we usually all sit together and watch some programs, this can obviously happen any time, but it doesn't, not now I'm older anyway.

I'm not bothered about gifts really, if we didn't do it (and some of my family don't) I would enjoy the holiday just as much. However it is nice to give and receive, we don't buy pointless things for each other. Yes I could just go out and buy things I want (and I do), but sometimes there are those things that you just don't get around to buying, or that people notice you would like/need even though you didn't realise. I think most families tend to open all their gifts straight away? We can easily make ours last all day and we don't have many, so there is no big rush.
I understand why people say they don't like the commersialisation of the holiday and all that stuff, I would agree. However I don't let it bother me. If you're not comfortable with buying things for the sake of it then don't, this is what my relatives realised.

Yes, I'm love this time of year.

Merry Christmas OcUK. :)
