The best car(s) YOU'VE ever driven

The best VEHICLE I've driven has to be the Scania R620 - 16Litre V8, 620BHP 3,000Nm of torque between 1,100 and 1,400 revs - Brings a whole new meaning to "Pulls like a train!"

I hope to try an R730 in the new year - yes, 730BHP!

Cars? you can keep them for me! :p

Well now the 'best' car I have ever driven is not the fastest, most expensive or most 'exotic' by any means, I think all in all the best car I have ever driven is the 2010 Audi A8 4.2 SE (....diesel) ...I'm serious, it is a fantastic car, and I'm not saying this because it's the only luxury car I have ever been it, far from it as those of you familiar with me will know, I have plenty of experience with these kind of cars, well I own one ...but yes, the new A8 amazed me, I always did like the old car but I never thought it stood out as anything hugely special, the new one doesn't either at first ...but actually been in one and driving one, wow ...Audi have really done well with it, it's just so complete ...quiet, comfortable, elegant, well equipped ...economical (for a V8), quick enough ...it's just such a brilliant all round car.

There hasn't been a car that I have been so taken with in many years. I didn't really 'get' it until I experience it though, I just thought ...looks nice enough but I'll have a Jag or 7 series thanks.

Who would have thought the Jag and BMW fan gets knocked for six by an oil burning Audi. I'd love one myself, however I couldn't afford the new shape one, which is the one I am talking about.

Of course they should count. You get far more experience of what the car is capable of than what you would if you just relied on a test drive on public roads. I got to push a 500bhp plus car around a test track and also have a go on a skid pan with the same vehicle. I never got near the limits of the E63 on a track and i was pushing well over 100mph in a very short distance. You couldn't dream of that sort of loon on a public road.

Sounds like you've been to MBW as well

You completely missed my point. My point was that given most people have done one it becomes a thread of 'Ferrari this' 'Lambo that' and 'AMG this', which gets tedious fast :p

I used to drive my dad's Chevy Avalanche (with off-road kit) when I lived in the states. For sheer stupidity, it was fun. Took it out on a snowboarding trip in heavy snow and had a ball!

:) got it free when my father in law bought his car.

The whole point of the thread is what's the best car you've driven.

Best car i've ever driven is my own Rx7. It's the best feeling, driver focused, best handling and fastest accelerating car i've driven.

Other similar cars i've driven are...
Mk IV supra TT
MR2 Turbo
R32 Skyline
S2000
944 Turbo
