first time i've ever been away from home and alone on xmas day. friends have all got family stuff etc which they should be doing and i've gone back to my mums for dinner but it just felt wrong to open presents at home this morning alone with the crap tv etc. i've got a mega house with great stuff imo etc but it just felt 'empty'.

am i missing something but besides being more independant i really can't see the bonus of living on your own especially at times like this?:o

I'll be away from my family for the first Christmas ever next year. Should be interesting mind you, be kept busy, going to be over in Afghan :D.

Same here, don't worry about it. I am playing Counter Strike: Source. :)

I created my Steam account on Christmas day too.

I'm on my own for Christmas, though I'm working later. It's the first Christmas I've spent away from a family setting, and it does feel a bit odd.

Quite enjoying it, wish I had bothered to buy and cook the stuff for a nice dinner tonight, and had bothered to put up a tree and things but otherwise I'm having a good day :-)

Chin up dude

I think even with all the moaning I do about Christmas I think I'd be the same as you. There would be a few presents under my tree or wherever but I don't know if I'd open them by myself. I'd have probably taken them round to my mum's place.

I saw a homeless guy last night and he had the same sign he has every day, except last night I actually thought he's out and alone last night. Still feeling that one, if I'm honest...

Cheer up. By next Xmas you could be married to the woman of your dreams and having the festive time of your life!

Of course the Xmas after that you might be back on your own in bedsit while your Mrs is shacked up with another bloke and your two young kids living in your old house.

Feeling better yet? ;-)
