Steam christmas sale 2010... *twitch*

No it doesn't. It still makes sense to get Vietnam through EA Store with their discount today though.
Hmm then for the extra £3 DA:O is most definiteiy a Steam purchase - mad not to be. Vietnam I believe is unlockable within BC2 and therefore I can add it to Steam BC2 too :D

ps3ud0

3-4 sheets of paper flying about the screen. Physx is amazing.

:p

I see that the effects are pretty basic with physx disabled. Stuff like fog, fluttering flags, destructible environments etc. are in plenty of games without needing physx but not in this. And on a single GPU which is all most people have, performance takes a noticeable hit.

Tempted by Flatout: Ultimate Carnage and maybe one of the Splinter Cells purely because of their cheapness.

Good to see Modern Warfare 2 is still double the price of what it should have ever been.

Just got batman, wanted it for ages. I hope that's it for me.

MW2 price is a complete Joke, some other e-tailer is doing it for £15 boxed. new.

I can see peoples point about steam being a definite auto update but the impression I got was that newer games on eadm auto update and the older one's probably come updated to the latest patch but seeing as i missed BFBC2 on steam i decided to go for it on EADM and DAO ultimate as well because it should already be fully updated and seeing as I'll mod it anyway manual patching aint really too much skinoff my nose.

In my experience on EADM the games don't auto update. Maybe some of them do that I don't own, I can't say. The newest game I have on there is NFS Hot Pursuit and I had to patch that myself. I did buy it before the patch came out, perhaps they now provide the patched version but suffice to say it isn't as simple as Steam.

On the flip side, you don't need to have the client running while playing games and you can install them wherever you want, they don't all have to go in the same folder like with Steam.

(edit - just thinking, Medal of Honor which I own the retail version of, and it is probably the same on EADM, it does auto update.)

Is anyone else experiencing stupidly slow download speeds atm? I've had normal service throughout the sale thus far, but I've been downloading Football Manager for a few hours now. Getting a tiny bit bored of waiting...

I'd say play something else while you wait but steam pauses the download if you do that. I think you can have it resume though. Otherwise there's always solitaire or minesweeper.

DA:O

Do I, Don't I.....

I DONT KNOW!!!! :(

I really want it on mac, and steam are being to competitive on w7 pricing (mac isnt on steam for this one) its good (I played an hour or 2 on ps3 before I had to give it back) but im not sure on the overall price....

On the plus, Civ5 for £22 quid is good and monkey island one and two for £3 is AWESOME :D (games iv owned year and years ago but dont run any more)

Yeah it normally pauses when start a game but if you alt-tab out and restart the download it normally makes it continue downloading.
