Are we Hypocrits?

Santa & the Christmas holiday have little to do with Jesus, and the holiday existed prior to Christianity

And TheCenturion, Jesus (were he even real) would not have actually even been born today

So what Christmas about then?

Enlighten me...

I've said this for a while now.

I'm not a christian - why should I celebrate christmas?

Also for Christians, the birth of Jesus is a very important event. I feel that people buying presents for each other, and snow, santa, blah blah blah, is not the best way to celebrate. However, this is an opinion and therefore can be debated :)

So it's ok for Christians to celebrate something at a time that it didn't happen, just because another belief had a better following and celebration at this time of year.

I celebrate it because it's fun, I just consider it "my" version of the holiday, I'm not at all religious. It's not like Christianity holds some patent on it or something.

Why don't you enlighten us with your own so called hypocrisy?

Well ITs a contirved nonsense that I feel compelled to do in order to keep up appearances.

Its expected.

I find it incredibly boring and uncomfortable and quite frankly I don't understand why we do it.

It serves no puprose other than to fuel the materialistic desires of the Homo Sapien mentailty.

Hey hey hey. No one's actually forcing you to celebrate you know. All that pressure generated by corporate hype via tv ads, shopping sales etc, is all superficial :p
