Hi guys :), been saving for a while and ive finally decided to get a nice custom gaming pc to play some games including: BF BC2, CoD black ops, WoW and some other lower demanding games, im also wanting to try some of the more visually stunning games such as crysis, which is why ive set my budget to a high price; I already have a nice display, mouse and headset etc so the only things im really looking for is a reliable keyboard and a nice machine :)

I also have a copy of windows 7 64 bit which i never applied to my old computer so that need not be included in the price also :)

Thanks in advance guys :)

Budget=£1700

Intel new Sandy bridge CPU's is released january 9th, my advice is to wait till then, and don't buy now.

Is there any info released about the new CPUs yet? I hear they will need a completely different motherboard etc? Graphics wise would i be better going for 2 6870s or 1 580gtx?

Cheers again :)

One more question please stulid, will overclocking the cpu actually make a huge difference? or is it only minor?

As long as you already have a decent processor to start with for gaming then overclocking won't make a huge difference in most games.

There are a few games will benefit, but for gaming it's mainly about the graphics card that you have.

I'm currently running an I3 540 at 3.6Ghz and an HD 6870 and am happily playing all my games at 1920 x 1080.

You could get a decent base unit for playing games for half of what you are budgeting.
