iPhone 3GS + 3 (Three) Question.

Need a quick annswer if possible, does anyone own a iPhone 3GS on 3 (Three) and has had it succesfully unlocked? Is there an official method provided by 3 (Three) yet?

If not email in trust please if it's been done somewhere else.

You can jailbreak and unlock (were allowed to talk about this now i believe) almost all versions of ios.

Doesnt make a difference what network its on, go search redmond pie for your iOS version

Thanks, iOS 4.1, Baseband 05.14.02. Can anyone confirm this can 100% be unlocked before I buy a 3GS?

Searched but it's alittle confusing with the layouts and stuff. I would like to no if anyone has successfully updated their 3GS to 4.2.1/3GS/Unlocked/Jailbroken.

I have read that if you upgrade to the iPad Baseband you can't revert back? Anyone got any more information about it?

4.2.1 has not been unlocked yet, that's coming.
Honestly, everything you need to know is on Redmond pie.

I have a Iphone 3GS on that baseband, and I had to do an thethered jailbreak, which makes it the right baseband to be unlocked..... works great but you will need to connect to PC everytime to want to restart ya phone..... but I believe this is the only way to unlock that baseband at the mo......

Thanks but no good to me.

I rang up three and they said they wanted to speak to the person I purchased it from to have it officially unlocked so they can confirm some details. I was thinking about just saying I am the account holder but they might ask some verification questions.

The person I purchased it from, purchased it from someone else. I got it in top condition on 3 (Three) for next to nothing!

How is that no good? It provides a solution to you. You can't get it done officially.

Can't be having reboots all the time it's important. I think I might jump onto three network anyway.

I will await more unlocks/jailbreaks that work properly.

PS I currently have a 3 (Three) sim PAYG stuck in it.

I also have a T-Mobile £30.00 PCM phone on HTC Hero G2....
If I sell my HTC Hero, I will still have a contract to pay and also pay 3(Three) PAYG.

I couldn't miss this purchase though. I got this brand new iPhone 3GS for £100. Too good to miss really but don't want to sell it!

I can't say I have rebooted my phone much at all, so it shouldn't be a problem

I've done it for now just because I need to use it, just will have to remember to take my usb charger where I go with wall plug and hope I don't have to reboot at any point! lol!!

Thanks. I hope they do get around so that the baseband can be downgraded and the iOS downgraded!

I hope so! lol. Thanks for the advise. I still don't no why o2 unlock the phones without even needing an owner, yet three do. Can't complain for the price though!
