Official™ What did Father Christmas Bring you?

I got some monies, some shinguards for cycling, various sweets and chocs and an IOU for one of these:

My boy got me socks with days of week on, his thinking was 'look mummy, daddy will know what socks to wear each day'. Excellent thinking except 2 things:

- only 5 pairs of socks Mon - Fri, no sat or sun?!
- I'm a bloke, the chances of being able to wear mondays socks again the next monday is highly unlikely. Maybe, just maybe, 1 Monday sock will be worn, with whatever else i can find to go on the other foot.

Oddly a friend mentioned he'd received the same last night. No Saturday or Sunday? :confused:

Bought shiny new LG 32" HDTVs (3) for my nearest and dearest and have spent all Christmas setting up, running new antenna cables, etc. It's all good fun :D.

Mostly money to fund me getting back to China, and alcohol :p Plus some clothes, a pewter tankard and a few books. Favourites from the booze gifts were a bottle of tactical nuclear penguin and a Planeta 18yr Mortlach whisky :)

That aside, he gave me a visit from my Mum and some severely shortened shifts - many thanks to all those who couldn't be bothered going to the pub on boxing day so we could close at 7pm!

Just got £40 off my other Nan, not quite the £200 from the other one, but still it'll pay for a new pair of trainers!! :D
 
Really enjoying it so far.

its great to be able to use F 1.8 after being stuck on F5 using the kit lens.

Great bokeh as well.

Just need to learn how to use the camera properly. still struggling with focusing.
 
Nice one, i've seen it for £85 brand new, might try Tottenham Court Road and see if I can haggle anything lower.

Do you own any photography books? If not then Understanding Exposure by Bryan Peterson is great. Its not going to explain how to use your camera but more how different settings will affect your results.
