I have a 32" LG TV, and I'm wanting to mount it on my wall. Now I've seen the official LG bracket made for my TV up for sale for just short of £40 and I was happy to buy it. But I've been told now by several people that I'm crazy and I should just get myself to Asda and buy their generic Wall mounting bracket at £20, as it's fine, and capable of mounting my 32".

My question is, would you trust a generic mounting bracket with £350's worth of TV? have you?

£20 would come in handy right now, as I'm skint. But not at the cost of my TV falling to the floor

I've gone for generic brackets and they've always been ok. At the end of the day, it's nothing fancy, just a piece of metal and some bolts. The more expensive mounts are often adjustable though.

Have a look at it. Does it seem sturdy enough? They are pretty much the same. The mounting is the same. I would trust the bracket tbh, but I would be a lot more wary of how you mount it to the wall. Get the correct heavy duty anchors to do the job.

Just don't do what I did and spent £150 on a bracket and it started to pull my wall down so it'd now in the attic losing value. It's a really good mount though! Can pull the TV out and point it either way etc :)

If you don't want much movement just buy a cheap one.

they're fine, just make sure the fittings are right. just cuz it says it'll do a 32, doesn't mean it'll do your 32. check the back and see if it does e.g 200x200, and see if it matches your tv

As above, there is nothing wrong with generic brackets as long as they are secured correctly and are designed to take the weight of your TV.
