Steam christmas sale 2010... *twitch*

What I woke up to this morning :p

Ignore the Peak Download Rate - I think Steam must've just gone a little funny. The top Download Rate is the max my connection allows.

I dont know what you guys are complaining about, 161 B/s is a lot.
Back in the day we typed in our games, none of this fancy cassette business modern folk are spoilt with. Try typing 161 words a second

Repeat offers has forced me to get bc2 and nam for 6.80 similar to gta4 last year which Im still trying to remember how to transfer the saves on steam to continue :o

Still pondering Mass Effect 2
I want a version involving DLCs, yet it seems this doesn't exist outside of US currently. I was expecting a GOTY version to launch around this time.
I know it was cheaper on EA, but even so, EA seemed to have significant problems recently for folks trying to backup many GBs of DL, so glad I missed it there.

ME2 is certainly the game I wish to play, but I think I shall give it a miss until a GOTY arrives, as the deluxe digital download version seems to give a gun and map or some gubbins, but no DLC access.

Did buy the x bundle, looking forward to trying x3 over the next few days

I need to get my internet connection sorted out in the new year, the thought of downloading some of these games from steam on my 1mbit is depressing! just wish someone apart from Talk talk would come along in my area

I would not beat yourself up too much about the DLC's mate, some are a lot better than others, i would not say its going to completely change the game experience for you.. i would just get it played and try and to get your character to a decent level before the next one

Right... I've suddenly realised that my list of games on Steam is unmanageable now.

How are people using the categories to organise their games (particularly those with many games)? I can't find a system that seems to work. :(

I've been organising by category so far, but thanks to the sales some of these are now too big.

Did they design this X3 game to actually make you not want to play it? Been following that dummies guide and I got to the Federal Argon Shipyard, selected autodock, the computer took over.....and rammed me into the station. Game Over.

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGH

Time to start again, was this programmed by the janitor?

By Delevoper?
By Engine used?
By Genre?

Filing by Engine and Developer sounds like it would make it harder to find anything I'm looking for unless I memorise them for every game I have. :p Easier for some titles than others, but I don't stand a chance remembering that for all the indie games I have. :(

I'm using genre at the moment, I was just wondering if anyone's come up with some genius idea for it. :p Being able to apply multiple genres like you originally could would be a great start. :(

Did you have to set a category for each game manually? Or is there a way of doing it automatically?

Never knew you could categorise games. Thanks for the tip. Before I go and do them all, is this setting preserved on the Steam server or is there a local file I should keep a back up of?

Manual labour. Right click every game, pick it's category from the list, confirm, next game. Which makes it a pita for anything over a few games, even though it's a necessity imo. :(

It's useful, but not been thought out well.

It's all preserved online. Categories I have on my PC appear when I login on my Netbook. :)
