Best card for £100 - pci-e

Hi guys,

I have just shy of 100 to spend on a new pci-e card to do some gaming on.

I was thinking of maybe an 8800 gtx (had one few years ago, was great) and can be had on auction sites for 70 ish!

What would be the best card for gaming sub 100 quid? I could push just a little bit more perhaps, i've seen a few gtx 460's for £109.

What about ATI?

Much difference between the two cards? and would i be alright with these cards on an ocz silent xtreme 500w psu?

Go for the 460. It's a faster card in every way, for only a bit more

OCUK have a nicely priced Asus GTX460 £110, looks a sure winner for the price, and it's quite a bit better than a 5770.

This. I had a 5770 which was cracking but if I had to choose between the two now it would be the 460. However if you could stretch your budget you can get the HIS 6850 for £135. Could sell the CODMW2 code to bring that cost down?

A lot of places now have the HD5850 listed at £124. I would pick up one of them.

I'd steer clear of an 8800GTX if I were you. Excellent card at the time but £70 is way over the top for a 4 year old card that could be on its last legs if its been heavily used.

U can't get a decent Nvidia under a ton.
5770<under 100

460 765mb @ £110.

U got 5830 @ £111 which is a much better card with 1gb of ram.

Overclockers had the MSI 5850 for £125 up until Christmas Eve, and Sc** seems now to be offering the same deal (none in stock though).

granted they are out of stock, it dosent say that the deal has a end date. if they are out of stock and ocuk have lots of stock..... is this why they went back up in price? probably not, im just gutted i missed the offer, anyone selling a 5850?
