There is already a thread on flashing the cards. Why didn't you just get easy to add it to his OP? :confused:

I don't think this thread is needed.

nearly all 6950's have been able to flash.

And what does it actually tell you?

A sapphire one did for someone and another didn't for somebody else? :p

I have added the success table to the Flash thread and will update regularly.
 
It worked!
Haven't stress tested yet but GPU-Z is showing the shaders and improved clock speeds!
I have the MSI r6950 2GB variety (bought from overclockers)
I used the MSI 6970 bios from here: http://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/...ufacturer=&model=HD+6970&interface=&memSize=0

I tried the standard winflash method & the bootable usb flashdrive method both of which failed. Finally success with the admin cmd line method - I'm running windows 7 64bit don't know what eventually made the difference but I'm well chuffed!
