People go on about widgets on one of the home screens like its something that is amazing, yet you have to get to that home screen to see it. How is that different from clicking an icon on the front screen in iOS? You still have to click somewhere!
Because in apple's own words "I don't have to change to fit the device, the device fits me" and with Android you can customise the hell out of those homescreens, just look at the mobile desktops thread the variety of styles is great and remember widgets are not limited to 1 per screen like an app, one flick and you can have 4 or 5 widgets from different apps. It's nice to have that freedom and it's something that puts me off switching to an IOS device because it's losing functionality, with android you can still have a screen full of icons if you want (hell you can even emulate IOS homescreens exactly), but you also have the choice not to...People go on about widgets on one of the home screens like its something that is amazing, yet you have to get to that home screen to see it. What is it about android users? They seem to be the new 'I dont watch TV, in fact I dont even HAVE a TV' types.
But I don't watch TV!
(Except for a couple of things like Top Gear/BBC News etc. on iPlayer)
Another angsty android inferiority complex thread.
Apple advertise a million time better than any other tech company. Hype sells.
Why are android users so insecure about android despite the awesomeness and value of their operating system?
Let people be ignorant and uninformed unless they ask for enlightenment. How does it help them when you rain on their parade after they have got an iPhone? The "I'm better at choosing my products than you" look is not attractive.
Edit- yours ex-android current iPhone user
Does anyone have a hard time explaining to people what Android is?
and you think it would be easier to explain what IOS is?
Iphone is what people recognise NOT the software it runs...
Android users are so nerdy and annoying sometimesApple users don't care about Android because they don't need to.

Its a little out dated, but my point is I think Apple may need to start worrying.
The iphone is a good device (I'll adamantly say not as good as my Galaxy S though...) but for the features it has it is over priced and unfortunately Apple knows people will pay that price. Just like Jack Wills knows it can charge £40+ for a plain tshirt because it has their brand on it and people know what it is.
What does a £550 Nexus S have over a £500 iPhone?
It isn't any better made (plastic vs metal/glass), the screen is a lower res, battery is worse, camera is worse, music handing is worse, it's not any quicker.
There's a few things like using as a Wi-Fi hotspot (can be done on a jailbroken iPhone), NFC and flash (also available on iPhone via Skyfire).
For most things I just don't see why you think the iPhone is inferior?
