I've just purchased crysis on steam whilst it was on sale, when what I meant to do was redeem my retail copy's cd key on steam. So I can now offer my retail cd-key up to someone who wants to redeem it with steam for free. Will be picking someone at random in ten minutes

yep, as we sorely found out when CK tried to use it, it can't be redeemed. I think all developers should start looking at making their games compatible with steam when releasing for PC, and thus providing cd keys with every game and latching onto the 'redeem' function. Irritating.
