Which 5570 or other budget card?

Hello foxycoxy. Hope you had a nice Christmas. :)

What are your system specs?. PSU, RAM and CPU if possible please.

The reason I'm asking is if your PSU is up to the job it would be wise to listen to Marine-RX179 as the GTX 260 216, HD4870 or 5770 1GB would be much more powerful than the cards you've been looking at. The only drawback is you'd have to find a used card for sale.

Thanks Marine and JD.

I haven't built the system yet, but I was looking to use the AMD Phenom II X2 555 and a 4GB kit of DDR3 RAM.

Most welcome.

Yeah I'd hunt for a second hand card from the ones listed in my last post. If you want Directx11 then only the 5770 is capable. Saying that, if you were buying for DirectX 11 titles then as it's an older card and mid priced when it came out in DX11's infancy then it's fair to say that it won't pump out the best experience.

My 4870 even with my low end CPU is good for a lot of games and the 5770 is comparable so it's a good buy for the price when you source one out second hand.

Seconded/thirded/seventhed... I just swapped out a 4870 for a GTX460, and tbh my 4870 coped admirably on med-high settings with some AA/AF at 1680x1050 in pretty much anything I played. Still a decent gaming card. GTX260 216 or 5770 are roughly equivalent as others have said, so substitute whichever you find for cheapest price.
