Northern Ireland's water crisis

Girlfriend is having to head to a leisure center to have a shower and grab free bottled water.

She lives in Belfast though. I live just outside it and haven't a problem. Might do shortly though if the rumours are to believed.

The Olympia wasn't bad, just back from there with water. They had a running spigot out by the road as well so don't see them running out any time soon.

Out of interest, what's your postcode? We're BT9 and I thought everything from BT4-BT10 was cut off.

I wouldn't mind at all if there was some sort of progress report - i.e. we've fixed this, still have problems here and estimate this will by done by X. The complete lack of info does not inspire confidence.

Fine in BT9 for me. Pressure was a bit low on Monday night though

I've been lucky enough not to have had any problems but I can't say I'm surprised this has taken so long to rectify. I used to work for them and I'll say no more.

well if they are anything like south east water, all the workers will be standing around watching the water **** out all over the road for 4 hours before actually doing anything

By the look of them sheets, they seem to have forgotten about the rest of the country.

Doesn't even list Armagh as an affected area ffs.

No water here - belfast BT09 area

I rang them up to see why we're listed as N/A on when water will restart, and they could tell me absolutely jack. Which seems somewhat odd seeing as we're listed as one of the places they deliberately turned off on Monday. I'm just tired of the lack of communication/info.

I'd rather know it won't be back on until Monday/Tuesday next week than be left in limbo.

My supply has just been turned on today, though it wasnt off in the whole village, was lucky enough to be able to get a shower at my sisters house.

we live in the countryside so not only have we been snowed in for a week due to the roads not gritted, now we no water, it not really effecting us as we an ex diary farm so have about 8000 litres stored in tanks which we using, we also supplying 4 other houses with water (two of which have young children). we know why we no water, there a burst halfway down the road, we know as we can see it bubbling up and it now been running 2.5 days, we reported it a few times now but still no one has been out.

the pipes that carry the water are the ones that were putdown in the early 60's and they cross our land, what more the waterboad have no idea were they are, they sacked all the old workers who knew, to bring in a load of new guys from uni who haven't a clue i am sure that when they do show up to fix the pipe i will have to show them were it is.
