Hi all,

I've just ordered a new monitor, after researching I settled on the Samsung BX2450, but OcUK didn't stock it so I ended up ordering elsewhere, this still leaves me with a £100 OcUK voucher I got for Christmas, so what to buy!?

My current system is a decent spec,

i7 920 D0 @ 3.8ghz
Gigabyte EX58-UD3R
6gb OCZ Gold 1600mhz Tri Channel
Ati Radeo 5850 @ 875/1100

My first thought is to replace the graphics card, I think it will cope with the 1920x1080 resolution of the new monitor, but you can never have to much graphics power :D But at the same time if my 5850 can cope I may as well wait til the 69xx series come down in price or even wait many months for 79xx series.

What would you do with a £100 voucher?

If you've got no big upgrade to put it towards I'd buy some sort of fancy peripheral/accessory.

Nice kb/mouse? Good sound card/speakers? More/faster storage? Blu-ray? Better cooling? Plenty choice, even those ugly case lights :P

Sorry, should have been more specific, I'm very happy with my peripherals.

Keyboard is a Logitech G110, mouse is an MX518, speakers are Logitech Z2300's and the headset is a Creative Arena surround.

The case is a Fractal R2, fitted with an extra 120mm in the front and 140mm in the roof.

The CPU has a Noctua DH14 HSF and the 5850 is fitted with a Zalman VF-3000.

I don't think I want a Blu-Ray drive (yet) as I watch Blu-Rays on the PS3/TV.

An SSD is a good idea, I'm more than happy to put money towards the voucher to get something decent, the OCZ Vertex 120gb Big Foot looks good!

Hard to find much that you need with that setup :P i would go with either an SSD or a second gfx card for crossfire

my initial reaction was "crossfire" too :D
Does the OP have sufficient wattage available for this?

SSD is also a good option, and the bigfoot would be where I waould be looking at the moment, mainly for ease of mounting

SSD. I got a 5850, 22 inch moniter i run @ 1920x1080 it will be fine...

all games I got max settings seriously fine.

A SSD will boost up ur system especially if you put windows, web browser's and your common used programs on it, all temp files are read/erased to/from it aswell!
