Hey guys long time since ive been on here but a family friend is requiring a new photo edit spec computer with around a £600 budget limit.

Heres a spec i put together but if anyones got any tweaks/adjustments im happy to hear them ty :)
Im sure theyd be happier if you guys save them money lol
Am i right in saying for raw processing power intel is the one to go for and for gaming power its AMD?

Everything in the spec below is all they need they dont need a gfx card or monitor.
oh forgot to add the wireless card

Also does p55 or h55 mobo make any diff to 1156 socket?

ive got a feeling people will suggest an i5 760 as opposed to your CPU.

I think its better value and a great performer at little extra cost, but im not sure.

1). Wrong! Depends entirely on budget, for example AMDs X6 is the way to go for budget rigs requiring a lot of cores.

2). No it doesn't make any difference - unless you're overclocking, in which case P55 is the safer bet as H55 chipsets tend to have worse cooling and have been known to burn out / set on fire etc :p

3). The i5 you specced is only a dual core, and hence pretty useless.

This is what you're looking for.

4). Never skimp on PSU. For £60, you can get a case and PSU bundle

5). Spinpoint F1 is the fastest 'normal' HDD out there, see here

To sum up, I would get this:

Intel Core i5 760 2.80GHz (Lynnfield) (Socket LGA1156) - Retail £140.99
(£119.99) £140.99

Asus P7P55D-E Intel P55 (Socket 1156) DDR3 Motherboard £103.99
(£88.50) £103.99

Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit - OEM (GFC-00599) £82.24
(£69.99) £82.24

Coolermaster Elite 430 Windowed Case - Black (with 500w Elite Power PSU) £62.99
(£53.61) £125.98

Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMX4GX3M2A1600C9) £39.99
(£34.03) £39.99

Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM (HD103SJ) £39.99
(£34.03) £39.99

LG GH22NS50 22x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM £16.44
(£13.99) £16.44

Blaze BL-M1088 2.4GHz Wirless Gaming Mouse - Black £14.09
(£11.99) £14.09

Blaze K3064 Multimedia Keyboard - Black £6.99
(£5.95) £6.99

Sub Total : £485.69
Shipping cost assumes delivery to UK Mainland with:
DPD Next Day Parcel
(This can be changed during checkout) Shipping : £11.25
VAT is being charged at 17.50% VAT : £86.96
Total : £583.90

Under-budget, meaning you can get better peripherals :p Larger HDD, full quad core, better motherboard

Ty vm for the feedback and recommendations :) Ill put them to the family friend and see what they say :) ty

Whoops! I specced two of those cases + psu's for some reason!

- £63 from the total cost :p

if you wanted to, that would elt you add another 4GB pair of RAM - giving you 8GB total - very handy :)
