Multiple stores in the same shopping centre

Theres like 3-4 pandora stores literally around the corner from each other in eldon square. Kind of annoying however i can understand why its done.

you find a lot of this esp with companies such as game who have taken over rivals ie eb

the stores are leased to the taken over company for x number of years 5/10/15/20 etc etc and its not econimcally viable to shut the stores down when they are taken over

Theres 2 GAME as well in the Telford shopping centre practically round the corner from each other.

That's because the one next to the ramp for the bus station and toilets used to be Electronics Boutique, the Game by the information desk/multi storey is the original one.

Game bought EB and then changed the EB shop to Game.

I left EB for EDS just before the change over back in 1999 i think it was.

Quite often at christmas time you get pop-up shop duplicates too, like in the Braehead centre last year they opened an extra Game shop just for the holidays then shut it down again after.

I can shed a little light on that one, my dad works for them.

Their biggest market is the lunchtime rush. They've worked out people will only walk so far to get lunch due to only getting 30 minute lunch breaks or whatever.

So they have them all over the town centre so everybody in town is only a 5 / 10 minute walk away. Leeds is the same - they have 14 stores in the Leeds City Centre Area
I can shed a little light on the proliferation of Greggs in town centres.

The highest concentrations are in the north. Where there are high concentrations of poor people.

Two GAME stores in Wolverhampton that are on the same street, one used to be Electronics Boutique though. They're less than a minutes walk between each other

I've lost count of the amount of Greggs that are around as well. Theres like 6 dotted around the Mander Centre/Wulfrun, not five minutes walk from one another. Although tbh, they must get a roaring trade at lunch from all of the office workers nearby.

thats why theres 15 stores near WC1 ?

If you're basing it on the number of stores, they've got more than Mcdonalds. its no longer true that greggs is only popular in the north.

WC1 = tourists = northern people.

It's flawless logic, don't try to disprove it.

edit: According to the Greggs website there are, perhaps, 4 stores in WC1. And that's me being generous with the postcode.

It always used to seem that the better places had "Baker's Oven" stores, but that brand seems to have been dropped in the last few years.

look on the website, there are tons all over the london area both inside and outside the M25.

greggs bought them. They've now rebranded them all greggs.
