Had my boiler on for 3 days from christmas eve, turned it off on tuesday, went to fire it back up last night and it cuts out after a few seconds and flashes F5. i thought it mightn be something frozen so have just tried again and it is still doing it, i reset it (well, i followed the instructions of 5 seconds to 0 and the clockwise to 1) and it's still not firing. any idea if it is something frozen or what the F5 fault is? i'm not going to attempt dismantling anything but would like to know it is something as simple as something frozen. i also had a radiator problem on tuesday, the pipe leading to the valve froze, came away from the valve and spat water out, i have pushed the pipe back into the valve. could this be anything to do with it?

thanks, that link did help. i re-set it, the boiler fired, started racing into the 90's and then errored again this time with F14

apparently this is a blocked heater erxchange. i think i've pushed my luck far enough. bye bye christmas money :(

If parts of your CH system are freezing/splitting and blasting water everywhere I think it is time to concede and employ the services of a professional heating engineer.

Sounds to me as parts of the system are bodged in!

I hope you can get it fixed soon as my gas CH conked out 2wks before Xmas, faulty gas valve, cost £300 to repair grrrrrr
