Yeah best player in the round is based purely on score. Kills are important to getting a good score of course, but not essential. Playing as a medic and dropping numerous medikits and making many revives can bag a ton of points, and is something I would recommend to newer players looking to level up quickly.
 
I expected that wouldn't and rightly so, but I think all the other points probably would have done. I was just amazed not to get it as I had a ton of pins/awards at the end which I had to scroll horizontally to see them all :)

Reminds me of a long 150 kill limit SQDM server i joined last night. By the end i had about 85 kills and a ridiculous number of Combat Efficiency/Excellence and Shotgun Efficiency pins. :D

And yeah only pure points counts, awards don't matter. Still think the point allocations for Saviour/Avenger are broken though. Saving an ally, fair enough, but worth the same number of points as the kill? Then the Avenger worth exactly the same when you were too late to save your ally? If anything that should be worth less.
 
Its funny that this version of hasting imo isn;t really recognisable as the one from BF:Vietnam, only thing that really clued me into what map it was were the ruins at one of the cap points. Wasn't till i went back and looked at vids of the old game that i recognised what it was.


Would it have killed them to at least have a dedicated helicopter for the opposition like in the above vid? :mad:
 
I'm getting really annoyed with servers that have recon/sniper rifle limits as the snipers we get are ***** useless. It seems to be the default class noobs go to. If you can't maintain a >1 k/d or support your team - or even squad, you shouldn't be hogging the recon. RAGE.

A lot of servers on Hardcore use it, some use the CG limit too. Both are fine... until you realise a bunch of retards are playing those classes and no one else can. You know like trying to play anti air and you can't take CG because all the noobs are using it to shoot each other as infantry or you can't take Recon to play offensively because there are people who can't aim sat 5 miles back not dieing and the useless restriction mods that block recons as a whole not snipers. (and even then it would annoy Tefal :p)

No the recon limit makes sure that the only snipers you have are bad shots who camp.


Any one who gets a recon kit and rushes will inevitably die reasonably quick, like everyone else then a camper gets his kit,

If the camper is good he will quickly kill a lot and become a target and be killed.

Then a crap camper gets the kit and he doesn't hit anything so no one bothers trying to kill him, he won't die he will live to the end of the round and he will always have that kit

so all the recons that would have rushed give you good support with sensors c4 and high powered rifles leave the server and you're left with the **** players and medic spammers.
 
I see so many recons who are just awful. Noobs sitting behind rocks, not throwing sensors, not spotting, not getting many kills, and not assisting in objectives. Lame.
 
Hi all just started to get back into BF Bad company 2 again so sorry if i sould like a noob. Ive updated with the patch from Oct 2010 however i can't hardly see any servers to join when i search.

I know there is these new map packs but yet again like a noob i can't download them anyone give me a guide to updating my version of the game would be very appreciated?

I thought the latest patch includes all the new maps, both the free ones and also Vietnam.
 
I just reinstalled bf:nam to have a quick blast against the bots, and after playing it its damn sickening how noob friendly the helicopters are now. Its like the damn things on stabalisers, in the original game its possible to loop and twist the helicipter around and it has a pretty delicate touch to it. In vanilla bc2 and bc2:nam its just sad at how dumbed down they are.

yeah!! peed me off i even accused admin :D

i had a k/d of 12/2 and top of my team on the new hastings map, then i get shot and im bottom of the list with a k/d of 1/1 seriously! WTF nice to have a new map and all that but its apparnt that there current infrastructure cannot even handle the nam add-on!
