Dont read this if you havent played or finished the game !



I have just completed RedDead Redemption and I have to say that I'm gutted by the ending !

It totaly took me by suprise.

You invest 20 + hours into a Character and then it bloody ends like it does.

I spent all them hours being good aswell I hardly commited any crimes. :D

I think that the John Marston Character was really likeable I thought it was funny some of the facial expressions he gave in some of the situations he encountered.

Im downloading that undead nightmare as I type this lol.

Where you bothered by the ending ? seemed tragic to. me sob, sob, :p

For the first time playing a game I actually felt sad when he died. I guess that's a sign that it was a good game!

You do know though that you continue on as his son? :p Since all the stuff you do as James, you keep.

And it's Marston, not Marsden. That's an actor :D

I felt the same tbh, and don't bother with undead nightmare either. Played it f0r 30 mins and it's ruined it completely!
 
Fantastic game. Fantastic storyline. I wanted to get Undead Nightmare on rental, but I got sent out the new NFS and Enslaved.
 
I completed it a week or so ago and felt exactly the same. :( When John walked out of the barn, I was just thinking to myself, 'No... No, this can't be happening.' And when he got pumped full of lead by the handful of remaining guys that I didn't manage to kill, I kept trying to think of a way that he could have survived.

I think I can say, almost without question, that John is my favourite video game character of all time. I was genuinely sad for days after completion, thinking about the fact he had died. It was an absolutely stunning game, easily the best of the year, but I really wish that John survived.
 
Im liking the undead one, accidentally shot my firey horse when i was on the gattling gun :(

As for the ending of the first one, reminded me of the first Mafia game and the ending in that one. Makes a change when the story ends like that with a character you've come to love through the story.
 
Hang on a second ..... I don't think you have finished it. When you start playing as his son, ride into the blackwater and the final mision is waiting for you by the train station. the shoot-out in the barn is not the end.
 
The end is a little wierd. I am at the point where you are running around as his son.
I only seem to have silly pointless stuff to do now. Do I get to kill the men with the car at any point? (I have forgotten their names it has been a few months since I played the game).

May be I have missed the proper ending then!


Overall a top title and Rockstar have definately upped their game since GTA4. Just a shame that I had to get it for PS3 as it isn't out on pc.

You probably have about 20 minutes left to do. It's worth playing/seeing.:)

I did that but it's more of an Epilogue than an ending.For me anyway.

I could have played a further 20 + hours with John.
 
RDR is one of the most enjoyable games i've had the pleasure of playing since STALKER soc on the pc, that part when you enter mexico, the sun was setting over a beautiful desert landscape, just plodding along on my horse then Jose Gonzalez starts playing - Far Away, it was just brilliant!!!:D anyway back to the topic, the ending was quite refreshing to be honest, well i thought that was the ending, i just assumed when john died and i took over his son that was it, left to roam freely, i didnt realise there was more.

undead redemption, again IMO they have surpassed themselves, bordering on the best official DLC i've played, loving it, although sadly nearing the end.

Yeah I'm enjoying it so far. I'm glad I bought it. :D I just snagged myself a Flame Horse.;)

I hope they release more Downloadable content.

and then a sequel! :D
