***The Official Gran Turismo 5 Thread***

What's up with all the snobbish replies of "It's not an F1 car, it's a Formula Gran Turismo"? You guys do know that the Formula Gran Turismo's are modelled on F1 cars of old, right? Stop being so pedantic, Jesus.

Well they look like an f1 car but I'm not sure they used v12 in that year so they are not exact copies of f1 cars unlike the f2007 and 2010 which are modelled on real f1 cars engine and appearance.

Pretty sure they're just the ported models from GT4, they were just called Polyphony race cars or something similar to that and they were based on some F1 cars from the 90's, I just find it all a bit pointless the way some people talk down to other people for no reason, just makes them look like bellends.

I call it F1 GT so im kind of in the middle :)

Some people on here are trying to keep people informed tho, one or two people in this thread went and bought the Ferrari F1 car thinking they could use it in the FGT event only to realise that in fact for SP the Ferrari F1 cars are useless!!
Just my thoughts, could be wrong tho, i often am :)

we should settle this with a race ferrari F1 vs FGT :D
 
b-spec. can someone tell me how i stop my driver driving like a retard. braking on the straights, letting slower cars through and directing himself at walls. I reckon can lap at least 5 seconds a lap qucker than this. Surely it wasn't this bad on gt4?

How do I resolve this? The game may be on the shelf for a long time soon if I can't sort this.

^This :) Normally I wouldn't care, but you'd be hacked off if your shiny new F2010 F1 car, which you just spent 10mil on, couldn't be used in the event you brought it for wouldn't you :)

Plus I'm a car bore IRL, so its my default setting to be pedantic :D
 
B spec now at level 32 Just started 4 hours of the ring. My plan is to just do the seasonal events until my b spec is level 40 then i'm gonna take over and do my a spec to level 40

thats if my ps3 don't blow up lol

The car settings make a big difference, on the Nascar races setting the brake balance as 1 and 0 (seems mad lol) and playing with the downforce stopped him from braking at every corner now he wins pretty easily.
 
Loving this game so far! :D

Does anyone know how you can get hold of an Integra Type R DC2? There is a DC5 for sale at the Honda dealer, but no DC2 :confused:. Not seen one in the used dealership either.

Join the club, my PS3 is not liking this serious abuse rofl. Got to B-Spec level 38 last night, now takes me just shy of 6m exp to level and I only get 2.3m from the first 24h event. At a best guess, I can kick off another 24 hour event when I get in from work later, then I need a further 4 to reach the magical 40 and one final 24 hour event then B-Spec is done.

I'm not even sure if I care about A-Spec any more, since I know I cannot get all gold on the Special Events that invalidates me from getting the Platinum and there goes my incentive to reach A-Spec level 40 :(

On a plus note though, my last check showed that I have done over 52,000 miles though :o
