What would you consider to be the best car of the decade?

To narrow it down:
- Most versatile sub 2.0L family hatchback?
- Best sub 3.0L saloon?
- The best sub £60k performance saloon?
- The best sub £30k performance hatch?

Feel free to add your own criteria.

Greatest road car is the Veyron, without question. One that I'd want if money no object no, but without question the greatest achievement.

Ferrari 458
Zonda F
Toyota Prius [oddball yes but immovative]
Audi S3 has to be amongst the best bang for buck awesome car

Mondeo to both - esp the most recent revision.

Not experienced enough to comment on the other two categories.

The Lamborghini Reventon / Murcielago (The newest one that was on Top Gear that Hammond was driving) is a good call ;D

Well hot hatch of the decade has to go to the Renaultsport Clio.

Renault took off when Peugeot killed off 2 of the best hot hatches ever made :(

It's been a fantastic decade for the performance hatch. So much competition between manufacturers has seen numbers rise to silly levels with some genuinely excellent value, easily accessible performance. Although it seems the plot was being somewhat lost in the last few years of the decade with focus being lost all over the place with all this power/torque needing all kinds of driver aids to keep the car going straight, and costs going a bit mental (VW/Audi/Ford etc).

I'd say the Clio 1XX has the 'best hatch' sewn up for sheer ubiquity, which is down to its low cost, relatively low running costs and apparent price/performance. I think the CTR did quite well too, and adds a bit more practicality.

If I had the choice of any hatch to sit on my drive, it'd have to be the Focus RS mk2.

There cannot be any other answer to this as a general question.

As far as "normal" daily drive cars which i'd actually be interested in, i would have cars such as some Mercedes S-Class models, Bentley Flying Spur, that sort of thing.

Questions such as best sub 3.0 saloon, most versatile sub 2.0L, hard to answer as i would argue that anything which fits these will generally be in a sea of similar anonymous cars. Nothing down in those sorts of category's are likely to be cars to get emotional or opinionated about.
