How do I give up online games?

Go travelling :) Didn't touch a game for 2 years and didn't miss them...but since i've been back lol

Just do other stuff in life, once you get the buzz from flying, or paintballing, or banger racing or whatever , you'll often find that the buzz from playing a video game seems so much more insignificant. It's often at that point that you find yourself finding it much harder to answer the question why am I sat at this screen and keyboard doing this.

I'm the opposite, skiing or pwning noobs in paintball matches beats sitting at my pc playing online every time, I find it much more fun to shoot noobs with a paintball gun than I do shooting them with a pixel gun :)

Since i moved here 6 months ago and sold almost everything i owned in the UK, ive been stuck on a crappy laptop, between that and looking after my 18 month old daughter, I've been on cold turkey and i don't know where i found the time to play before.

Cancel your internet.

Change to dial up so online gaming sucks cos of ping.

Block the ports to the games so u cant access their servers. And make ur router password protected or somit and type a impossible to remember password and dont write it down and break the reset button.

:p

ive got the opposite problem. Used to love games, now I cba with them as much :/

How old are u btw mate if dont mind me asking?

got like 4 friends who same age as me used to love online games and none of them can be arsed either lol! wonder if its an age thing :D :)

It must be an age thing. For me, when I was aged around 5-18 I was a complete gaming addict playing nearly all day everyday! But now at 22 I don't get the same buzz as I used to.
Sure I still like to play the odd game, but there's no real excitement any more

Thanks helmet. The problem with dvd's and such is they don't stimulate me, more something I watch to relax from other things (uni, gf, gaming).
Yeah I used to play Halo also. Magic pistol bullets!!

I have this. The lass questions my gaming habit but it is my hobby. I like to do something that i enjoy because it engages you rather than just staring at a tv screen. I still think there is a bias directed against gamers as if it isn't a real hobby.

On topic it's just willpower you need if you really do want to quit. I quit mmo's for 6 month at one point because I was quite frankly bored with them. Now I'm enjoying them I choose to play. It's nice to know you can walk away. Don't quit because of her though or you feel it's a waste of your time, instead just re-plan your time and game less and most of all make sure that the gaming comes second to RL.

screw that..if you like gaming keep doing it...maybe just a little less...say 3hrs/day instead of 5 :)

I'm 21, so i should still be into games. Its like, only occasionally will a game come along that can hold my attention for long than 10 hours. But it used to be every minute spent playing games, even just messing around
