with relative ease, but when i go to benchmark my score is lower than what my stock speeds were

example,

in 3dmark11 with o/c i got 3300
with stock i got 3400

I then do a smaller overclock of 3.3ghz and i get 3800

i am confused.

Help me please

all i know is that i made sure my memory didnt adjust over 1600mhz on the 3.3ghz.
with the 3.9ghz my memory was at 1800mhz.

either that or could it be powersupply... altho it says 80+ efficiency

When you are running 3d mark 11 if your temps are more then 1-2'c higher it will effect your score, so that can be while your score is low cuz you have o/c and temps have gone up ;)...
Happy new year

But if this is the case isnt that a big margin?
63 degrees full load in prime isnt really hot.

its cooler than what i got with stock fan, and i still get lower scores.

appreciate the feedback though, as i want to find this out.

Happy New Year Too.

Try upping your chipset voltages a notch or two, your overclock might not be quite stable. Check with cpuz if your RAM, qpi speed, pcie speed etc.. are right and not getting clocked back.

Ill get back to you tomorrow, as i am on laptop now. you could be right here, as my motherboard ai tweaker sets these options to auto.

Faztastic please use some common sense and either crop your screenie or resize it to a small size, its too big to display on a normal screen correctly.

Disable throttling in the BIOS, thats likely causing the issue as theres no other reason a higher OC would give lower scores. :)

ok so, been messing around with it all day...

it still feels odd.

with overclock

i ran fraps, stood in a particular spot on bad company 2, looked at frame rate 30fps

With default 2.7ghz, tried it with same spot 30fps

powersupply surely?

The games might be gpu bound more than cpu? Doubt its a psu issue, though the psu in your sig would not come near any of my rigs ;)

this looks odd, 1.3v so far stable

memory is per stick , 794.7 mhz @ 9-11-11-29

Im really surprised that you have managed to squeeze 3.9 out of your PC with a stock cooler, i run a i5 750 system O/Cd to 3.9 currently, i have a thermaltake Frio keeping everything cool.

Your PSU looks a bit cheap TBF, but everything else looks fine TBH.
Although your CPU powers are massive compared to mine. Yours sit at 127.13/34.19/165.25 mine are 28.96/28.96/50.69 which then push your currents up massively aswell!
These figures IMO would mean that your PSU is working extremely hard ?? Would that be fair to say??
If im correct with that then your PSU is the issue

i would say that your clocks are unstable that is why you get lower scores on 3dmark

when i run intelburn and my clock is not quiet stable the gflops will be lower up the vcore a notch and tested again it score goes up you no its that

Its a known issue with IBT not loading properly, stop the test and restart it . You'll know soon enough if its loading properly via temperatures and gigaflops.
