Yet another fail thread... replacement cheapskate car!

It'll be in the bin within 3 months.

Even your e39 will lose £180 over 3 months...

Its cheap motoring (in more ways than one, granted!) at that price.

It's not free motoring if you throw a car in the bin, that's doing it wrong.

Even if he did "throw it in the bin" he'll get most of the purchase price back in scrap metal alone, let alone any "valuable" bits and pieces that can be salvaged.

The mastic-roofed shed was a bit of a fail, but this is miles better. He gets to hoon around in a comfortable 200BHP car with a slippy diff knowing that'll almost certainly make his money back whatever happens. I call that a bit of a win really :).

Where the hell did you get it for that little money?

Whilst I find your Rover fanboying most odd, that is cheap as chips.

I cannot see how anyone can argue with £180 for that. Much less for one of the better, later ones.

I think these cars probably offer the best value of any car, ever. For such little money you get 200BHP, LSD, a really quite comfortable cruiser that doesn't handle all that bad. They're even fairly reliable if looked after.

I paid £400 for an N plate one a fair few years back, and thought that was a bargain!

First of all, I did expect Fox to come in here with something bad to say. :p
The truth is, I get bored... that's the long and short of it. Nomatter what I own, I will always be looking for other junk to buy... :D

It's not bad, just been on a good drive out to go visit the parents, and get some anti-man flu death cold medicine. Covered about 80 miles, and the way it comes on boost and the overall condition is frankly amazing for the money. 2k..2.5k... boooooooost! :D

The way I got it was saving it from the scrapheap - a friend was about to scrap it, and emailed to ask if I wanted it for scrap value. Yes please!

Only taxed until the end of January, but MOT until August.

It's also doing surprisingly well on fuel, win win.

That's the long and short of it, don't think he had the time to sell.

I'm all for saving a decent car, and seems I've come up trumps for the cash I paid. Had half a tank too!
