I need some advise please if possible , i got Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 32 Bit Version on 30th December from a well know massive computer company in Ireland the same company i got my laptop from which is still in warranty , i did ask the salesman/tech if my laptop would run Windows 7 Home Premium which he said sure no problems, after installing it , i am getting problems with a few devices like touchpad , Bluetooth , Soundcard , Video Card. If i could not find drivers for Windows 7 for what i am missing , could i go back to the original salesman/tech and if he could not help me , could i demand a refund , my laptop was running Vista before with no problems or is it my problem :D:D

There should be no problem finding Windows 7 drivers for your laptop, generally hardware manufacturers release driver updates for newer operating systems within the range of it being released.

Use device manager to find your hardware and google it to find windows 7 drivers, if that's still not possible, download Uniblue Driverscanner or Game Booster to help with driver updates.

Since Installing a new OS is likely to void warranty, i'm not sure if it does or not, they may not give you a refund.

If you have a Dell system, then installing a new OS, will not void your warranty. If your copy of Win 7 is retail, then you should have no problems with drivers, as Win 7 ships with a lot of drivers. What driver you can't get, can be found on your hardware vendor web site.:D

I have a Dell Inspiron 1720 , had it 3 years & i think its a great machine even better when you can attach 2 500GB 7200 hard drives

Dell are going to ring me tomorrow & i am going to email the salesman tonight about my driver problems . . .

4 main problems are as follows

SIGNATEL STAC 92XX C-Major HD Audio Rev A05
Dell Touchpad / Pointing Stick < It does work without drivers :D
Dell Wireless 355 Bluetooth Module
nVidia® GeForce™ Go 8600M GT < Think ive sorted :D

I wished i stayed with Vista now :D:D
