Don't forget all the 18, 19 year olds who may possibly be married or in long term relationships also fall into the category of teenage pregnancy. It's not all 12,13 and 14 year olds.
Primary schools offer sex education to children as young as 5 in Britain.
Either one of them should have made sure protection was used...

At 10 I'm sorry but most children don't even no what sex is. At 10 I mean come on. When your a child at that age it's just mucking around.
They probably saw something in media or whatever and it went from there. Yes, she could have kept her trousers on but you do no that a female has stronger feelings with these sort of things?
It was a genuine question, I actually didn't know.
But you can't put all the blame onto the boy.
They shouldn't of been having sex at that age in the first place.
I don't think that covers condoms and the pill.
In the same way, you can't put it all on the girl.
It is a joint responsibility, and if neither checks or asks, then they have both failed.

You're a great example of why some people lack sex education. It's apparent that you do not realise the final decision for someone to become pregnant comes from a female.

They shouldn't be having sex full stop at that age until the age of consent.

I remember when I was 10 years old there were wonderful long summers. I'd be out playing in the morning, back for lunch, out playing in the afternoon, back for my tea, and out playing in the evening.
My parents of course put rules on me, which I broke, but we could have been anywhere and my parents would have no real control.
It's not at all reasonable to expect parents to know where their 10 year old is all the time, they have to be trusted to do their own thing. It's part of growing up, and I certainly would have had a much worse childhood if I didn't have the freedom to be a kid.
Nothing that's reasonable can be done to prevent it. Yes, it's a 10 year old girl who will never have a proper childhood. But as the OP said it's 3 a year. There's a lot worse happens to a lot more children.
