The reason why other 10 year olds are not getting pregnant is because they have good parents and censor their kids from bull****.

A child a 10 cant make life decisions, especially about sex since their brains are not yet matured to that of an adult.

10 year old having sex would be exploited and groomed into it.

Luckily not been in that position myself & still waiting to be a grandfather one day. Later than sooner. Whereas I'd agree some parents are bad, I suspect in many cases the parents are as distraught as anyone else on hearing said news about their child being pregnant & wondered where they went wrong. & would also guess they thought it only happened to other families.

You either need to have kids of your own to see things not falling the way you foresaw them, (& no I'm not one of them, just can sympathise witth people I read about) else if you have kids, get off your moral highground. People like you make me sick if no-one else. **** happens without ***** like you pointing fingers.

btw, wish I knew about sex at 10 years old. I'd have been well at it. (then leave my parents to carry the can

There's lots and lots of people in the UK. A lady at work brought in pictures of her daughter at some dance or other. She was 14 and looked 21. With so many people in the UK it's fairly possible that there are ten year olds than can make themself look much much older.

This whole thread is based on the premise of the whole of the UK. Things like this are going to happen with a population that size. Of course it's tragic, but it's just going to happen. Lots of things are tragic and happen when you look at 60 million people, why such hysteria over this?

Exactly how are parents supposed to do that?

because a responsible parent will shield a child away from all things sexual for aslong as they can, this includes tv, games, internet, conversations etc. they're 10 yrs old, they have no need to know about this kind of stuff other than drilling the ''don't talk to strangers'' advice into them. sex education is a slightly different matter but i still think that children don't need this in their life until they can understand the consequences of it. at such an age there should be as little pressure on them as possible and they should be learning maths and english, not 'how a baby is made' until they are atleast 13 imo. if i ever have children, i will shield them away from things which contain sexual activity, drugs, violence etc for aslong as i can.

I think if you were on the receiving end of a serious "sexual assault" you'd have a hard time seeing the difference between what has happened to you and being raped. The law might not call it rape but that's what it is.
