3 10yr old pregnant every year !!!

Agreed but the law is an arse :)

In Scotland, they changed the law in Dec 2010 so that Rape not only included mouth and anus as well as vagina but also included the previous crime of Sodomy (male on male) under the same heading. So up until just over 31 days ago, male's couldn't (LEGALLY) be Raped in Scotland

It appears to have been changed in E&W in 2003 (used to be called Buggery)

Well that's different, scotsmen ask for it with those skimpy skirts they wear. :D

*hides VERY fast*

I think people are failing to realise the child is innocent in all this.

They are being robbed of their childhood.

What about the ten year old child that got the other ten year old child pregnant?

Which set of parents are to blame? Perhaps both are. Or just perhaps life isn't as always as black & white & sometimes situations just happen with no blame except for kids wanting to experiment what they've seen/read/heard elsewhere going far beyond what they should.

That's the idiotic Daily Mail response that I thought would come.

You would be a bad parent if you followed your own advice. When you do have a kid though you'll understand.

You need to let kids be free to be kids. And if that means in a country with a population of 60mil people that 3 10 year old girls get pregnant every year then so be it.

I don't hear you shrieking about broken arms, broken legs, broken necks. About kids dying when playing. It happens, and it's just pat of life. It doesn't mean we have to be happy about it, or that we should give up trying to control those risks. But it does mean that we have to accept that some bad things will happen, it isn't always societys fault, it can't always be prevented and it's not always the parents fault.

i would be a bad parent if i followed my own advice? not as bad a parent as if a child of mine got someone or became pregnant at 10. you're seriously comparing children breaking bones (doing what children should be doing - playing) to children of 10 having children? nice one.

your attitude there is one of the attitudes that really worries me about this country.

If it was a 10 year old, hence my earlier ponderings upon the average age of the fathers involved in this. Bet its not 10.

Your attitude is what's wrong with the country.

Stuff happens. It's not always reasonable to blame someone. This country now looks for a scapegoat any time something happens.

To a 10 year old kid, going into the woods, or playing by the train tracks, or letting boys touch you are all just things you know are wrong and have been told not to.

Kids don't always do what they're told, they will break rules, you can't stop it happening.

What I was failing to see, & why I posted, was your complete ignorance to what actual parents of these situations may actually feel & how normal a family like the rest of us they may actually be? :( & I'm sure the last thing they'd need is the likes of you pointing fingers each time they walk down the street.

You are crazy guy. That outlook on things in really nutter.

I wonder if we could apply that attitude to other examples.

"And if that means in a country with a population of 60mil people that a couple of rape victims get penetrated with a non-biological penis then so be it"

I'm sorry but when I was 10 which was less than 10 years ago we were told that if you stick your sausage into the girls pasty it makes babies, They even show animations of it.

I think its mostly the parents to blame, or school if they are not teaching it properly.

I'm not crazy. Some things you simply have to accept. It applies to anything.

That doesn't mean you have to be happy about it. It doesn't mean we can't try to mitigate it or prevent it.

But we have to accept that bad things will happen. Not everything can be prevented.

I would still like to hear some solutions. But most seem to give the feeling that its either not a problem or something that cant be prevent.

Yup I don't think it can be prevented, chances are there have been 3 10 year olds pregnant every year for the last 10,000 years and given all the possibilities and variables I suspect that no matter what the government or parents do , statistically speaking they'll be 3 each year regardless

Like crime, you can't stop it.

BUT I do think they need to teach more about sex education in schools.

Just looking back at the cartoons that were on when I was 10, there was Tom and Jerry (still on), cow and chicken and a few others.

Now its Drake and Josh and Hannah Montanna.

You got people like Katy Perry singing stuff like " You make me feel like I'm living a teenage dream, the way you turn me on" When I was 10-12 I'm pretty sure songs and music videos like this did not exist.

I know this may sound silly but I really do think music videos and what pop stars wear influence what young teens wear and how they behave.

stuff like this happens because of bad parenting. it's not meant to happen at 10 years old. are you seriously saying my attitude towards this is what's wrong with this country? i can't take you seriously. ''stuff happens'' , this isn't ''stuff'', this is purely unacceptable and bad parenting.

GUYS CHILL.

Its simply down to her\his lack of knowledge of sex. The school curriculum needs to go over sex more thoroughly and the consequences of having a child. Blame the schools and parents not the kids.
