PC games, whats worth getting?

I picked up the King's Bounty games recently, and they are really good. I have almost played through the first one, The Legend, and it's taken ages!

Pretty similar to Heroes of Might and Magic games, graphically somewhat like Warcraft 3.

Aye the KB games are ruddy excellent.

Packed with charm, you cant fail to grin whilst youre playing them. Especially when youre fighting a giant turtle.

thanks for the suggestions guys, will look into it...

however going back to games looking better on PC or PS3 etc, lets take for example GTA4... you'd need a monster PC to run that smoothly versus a sub £300 console!...similary for the COD series where all the onscreen action would tend to slow down even a modest PC but plays fluidly on the PS3...

I guess my PC in itself is past due an upgrade (Opty 170 at 2.2ghz and a Radeon 4850)...I'm only looking to replace the CPU/mobo/ram and was holding out for a Sandybridge or not sure whether to get the Ph II X4 (going to use it for vid editing as well)...

with a current get processor will the Rad4850 be ok for Mass Effect 2, Civ 5, etc?

my old PC which I built in 2005 ran cod4 on medium settings just great. It had a 6800 card and single core 3500+ AMD processor. As for GTA4, the only reason you need a hefty PC to run it is because it's so poorly optimized.

I loved playing borderlands when i first got it and the addons, struggling to motivate myself to finish all the addons now tho

I think a 4850 would probably handle civ 5, but not at full detail.
I would highly recommend picking up Civ 4 + expansions before the sales end. Civ 5 is not an improvement over Civ 4 it is just a different game. Some features added some taken away.
With your PC you should be able to handle Rome Total War and Medieval Total War II very well. I highly recommend them they are both excellent PC exclusive strategy games.

dragon age, and mass effect series. played them on console and on pc, and they play far better on pc. and not too intensive either.

This is and always will be the case for RPG's, so much better on the PC. Oblivion is worth a look too, not that old and still an amazing game.
