Over here in guernsey i pay about £14 to go about 3miles (Which is my normal taxi ride from town to home)

Depends on the time. Usually we pay £5 for about 2 miles. This doubles in the early hours

I pay about £18 for about 9 miles ie my journey from my house to my office...very rarely ill take the cab, only when the tubes are messed.

Depends on the town/city - London is more expensive than some ***** city up north etc...

Yep, at home (south east) it is half as expensive as Bath.

Completely depends where you're going.

I sometimes get a taxi from My House to the Centre of leeds. Approximately 8/9 miles

Got one when i went out for my Works Xmas Do and that cost me about £12.

That was pre bookable only private hire vehicle. No idea what hackney carriage rates are as i never use them.

I paid £35 for 28 miles yesterday...I missed the last bus :/

It was a quote and I haggled down from £45.

Depends totally on location, distance, time of day, the taxi firm and driver, and your ability to haggle.

Here too. Black cabs about £4-5 a mile.
