I gave a 360 Pro (with HDMI) to a family member over Christmas. They have a Panasonic TV with HDMI etc. They set it up but couldn't get an image to display. I had a go with the same results.

I took it home and connected it back up to my own TV and it works fine. It was set to 720p (I checked, thinking perhaps it was set at 1080p and their TV didn't support it). Odd I thought. What is also quite odd is that my own 360S can display 1080p via HDMI, yet when I set this other 360 to 1080p it wouldn't display.

Am I missing something? Same HDMI cable tested on my TV. I'm stumped what to do now and why it isn't working on their TV.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll find out what make/model they have and see if there's an update.

Any reasons why the 360 can only do 720p and the 360S 1080p on my TV though? Same thing? I recall updating (via USB) my TV firmware a few months ago.

If they both have hdmi, then the graphics hardware in the 360s is identical, so I doubt it's at that end of things, unless one is a bit knackered.

both should output at 1080p
my old 360 did so there is a problem somewhere

I had the same problem with my new Panasonic. If I set the xbox visual settings to 1080i it works fine, but if I set it to display 1080p it just shows a blank screen.

The only change was the tv, using a Xbox 360 20GB premium model (so fairly old).
