Darksiders - Finally available on Steam in the UK - £5

Spent almost 10 hours on it since downloading, its not usually my sort of game but the horrifically violent deaths along with the ability to purchase new stuff with the souls of dead people :) has got me hooked, also the fact you have to actually think about how to get to the next level :D

Overall a brilliant game and a steal for £5, if you missed the daily deal even at £13.39 its a steal :D

Woah so many positive reviews lol. So guys how would you rate daksiders against god of war and devil may cry series ;)? I have got the game aswell but haven't downloaded it yet lol.
Having always been a God of War fan I was very much looking forward to GoW3. As it happened I first played Darksiders immediately prior to God of War 3 and I think that's a large part of why GoW3 felt like a series that had run out of steam.

To me it felt like combat that was basically on par with Darksiders without any of the other stuff that made Darksiders so good. In a direct comparison Darksiders offers a whole lot more than either DMC or GoW, only when moving on to the the next level of action adventure games (Bayonetta, Ninja Gaiden) can you at least say their combat system is significantly deeper.

It's a shame Darksiders appears to be so completely generic and uninspired, I can see why people have either never heard of it or simply thought it wasn't worth a try.

I read someone compared this to Prototype somewhere here on the forums, does it have an element of free roaming to it?.

It had the weirdest marketing strategy to be fair though. The only time I saw adverts for it on TV or the internet was pushed by sky for the stargate SG1 episodes they did daily, thats it. The advert also didn't say what the game was about and made it out to be some weird crap anime thing lol

Ok...Wasn't expecting a thread to be made like this on only one game from the steam daily christmas deals....

Sorry for the confusion! I made the thread simply because until that deal, it hadn't been available at all on steam, in the UK.
I did the same with Blur, and with another game whose name I can't remember, when they first appeared on steam in the UK.

So memememe is gimpymoo? As you say you made the thread mememe but it was gimpy unless its 2 accounts for same person.

Dude, what are you smoking?

Pass it around.

I wasn't tempted at all by GoW3, but I picked this up when it was a fiver because DMC was one of my favourite games on the PS2 - haven't had a chance to play it yet, but looking forward to it :)
