So, just wondering, how do I get good photos on my iPhone? So far there quite grainy...I downloaded 7.0MPX camera, and camera+ but still cant work out how to good photos.

I know light helps ANY phone camera, the pics i have taken with my iPhone look great on the phone, but absolutly gash on the PC...
That's because your viewing it at full res on your PC, and zoomed out on the iphone. Print it out and the grain doesn't look so bad...

I want to host it online for other people to view. It is a picture of an item I aquired that the OCUK Watch Devision may be interested in.

You may be able to use the de-noise filter to remove the grain in photoshop. but it can often blur the edges... So you need to experiment a littlw...

Download 12mp camera, you can find it in the app store. Then download 'canon 24-70 f/2.8L' and install it. Should be much better quality.

A steady hand is also important too since the pictures will blur very easily. Make sure your filter program isn't downsizing photos when it saves them (some do this). Also things like the apps which claim higher megapixel counts are gash and pointless and you'd be better off using a pano app like Autostitch to create a larger image and then cropping/downscaling it rather than just stretching out a single one to make it a higher res (which is no different to upscaling a crappy SD picture on a 1080p TV).

Also rather obvious but the 3GS camera simply isn't that great. The iPhone 4 can offer MUCH better pictures in optimal conditions (although it still suffers from the same problems all cameras on phones do).

I can't find any of them?

Also to the above, what stitching app do you recomend? And how would it work without having stupid edges?

When the app has finished combining the images you can crop the image, with the default crop position being the one where no 'stupid edges' will be visible. It's still limited by the 3GS's average camera though. I imagine any great iPhone photos you've seen have been done on either an iPhone 4 or they've added a load of 'retro' filtery effects to disguise the original image's failings.

Why don't you post one of the pictures so people can actually see what you're doing wrong?

As you mentioned watches... I took this on my iPhone:

Well i actually thought it was helpful somewhat, to see even in perfect lighting HDR on or off, your still getting grain on even the iPhone 4 camera.

Sorry.

Perhaps it would have been an idea to footnote your photos accordingly? ;)
