BattleField 3 will not support XP

if it releases at end of this year it will get crushed .

no game compares to cod sales so it wont be out november.

so my guess would be october or next yr.

As long as the mouse movement for BF3 is not like BFBC2 then i will be chuffed, I want proper pc mouse support. Not half done bad console port. BC2 is a great game just a shame about the mouse not feeling natrual like source and cod games.

it all makes sense now

for some reason i just couldn't get into BFBC2

couldn't put my finger on it, it just didn't "feel" right

now i know why

I would be happy to get windows 7, trouble is i can't seem to find the full home premium version for around £60, its kept perpetually high like activision do with the cod games, im all for making a fair profit but the way they keep prices high is just wrong.

If you think they are putting more effort in to the pc version you are deluded.

It's all smoke and mirrors they only care about the console market sales.

Well they pretty much have to be putting in more effort than usual, as excluding DX9 means they'll be having to scratch write much more of the PC code specifically, as they won't be able to just port the majority of it from the 360 build.

Well, from the figures of BC2, PC seems to have kept up with the consoles in terms of player count, especially after vietnam (not sure about sales mind you). We have ofcourse heard this all before. I am quite skeptical as to how this dropping windows XP support will play out.

I know its fud btw.

Hang on, I thought people here said they wrote BC2 for all three platforms, and then at the last minute were told to include DX9 support. Suggesting it doesn't involve a huge amount of extra work.

I don't know why people think that omitting DX9 support is going to magically make a PC game miles better, you are still using the same hardware and the differences will be insignificant I expect.

Even games like Just Cause 2, are you really telling me that couldn't have been done in DX9 if they'd wanted to. Of course it could, they'd have found a way to do it and I expect it would have looked and played 99% the same.
