Hi guys,

my system has been randomly crashing of late, no BSOD, just completely cold restarts itself with no apparent reason.

Happens during all types of uses, gaming, web browsing etc.

There have been a couple of times where it happened several times right after one another and when this happens my overclock settings fail and I get prompted to check my OC settings in the bios when the system POSTS.

My core system specs:

Asus P6TD Deluxe
i7 920 @ 3.4
6GB Cosair dominator DDR3 (1600mhz)

Please see the cpu-z settings below and comment if you feel any of them need changed...thanks!!

At 3.4Ghz I would have expected a higher voltage of the 1.312V you have. I myself am running an AMD Phenom II X6 at 2.8Ghz (stock) and im on 1.35V as standard, however the i7 is a quad not a hex, nor do i know its power consumption but i wouldn't have expected it to be far off.

I would probably say something to do with voltage but I wouldn't be sure. Worth waiting for somebody else to have a look and see.

Plus when you OC'd did you make sure your RAM is still at 1600Mhz? because the RAM frequency usually raises with the CPU when you overclock.

I have the same chip and have 1.28v on the vcore for 4ghz.

What happens when you run prime, also download mem test and run during the boot process to rule out possible ram problems.

Just ran prime and all 4 cores were hovering around 85 degrees after about five minutes of stressing....is that good or bad???

Well them cpu voltages are bad for 3.4ghz. I could use less voltage for 4ghz and that 85c is bad if not using stock cooler.

Heres what i get

But thats with HT disabled
My cpu cooler aint nothing to special. Titan Fenrir Evo
Motherboard Asus P6X58D-E which is prob not to different from yours when it comes to bios settings

Are you using auto voltage?
