How to move 200kg from portsmouth to Brighton?

Is there anyway to do this? Looking to pick up a weights bench with 190kg of weights but have the small snag of it being in Portsmouth whereas I am in Brighton.

Are there any courier firms which will do this for a price which isn't completely obscene?

Thanks

Do you own a car...? Do you have a friend with a car? Surely it can be packed up to fit? Brightons not far away...

I think it can be packed away yes, but being a student I don't have a car. :(

I've checked some courier places out, but no one is touching 200kg. I was considering train, but it's just not practical considering my flat is like 10 minutes from the train station and thats normal brisk walking, not lugging 200kg of weights and bench haha.

Hire a van and take the very long drive, or have a look for a delivery site that checks places for you and returns a shed load of quotes.

You could get away with it being in the boot of a car, if the bench will fit, though it will give it a nice lowered look at the back at least!

I don't have a valid driving license, also to young along with everyone I know. The guy said it would fit in a car, but as said the point is moot.

Do you have a link to one of those websites you mentioned?

Thanks

edit: in that you need to be like 25 to rent a van?

Yeah man with a van is a good idea or with a trailer. I'm 24 and have driven rental vans. One was from axehire. Think you had to be 21+. I'd offer to help out tbh but I live in Essex so it's quite a bit of diesel just to get from here.

a bench will never ever fit in a car, unless its a 4x4 or an mpv with the seats taken out or the bench has been taken completely apart (which usually never happens, due to throwing away instructions after building it).

also, if it is 200kg, of weights plus a bench thats about 2/3 people. so if you are taking it in a extremely big car, space the weight out a little, all in the boot wouldn't be a good idea.

the best option would be to borrow a van, someone you know must have access to or own a van.

I would offer to do it for you but I'm pretty busy for the next 3/4 weeks. :(

Very kind of you to offer. Thanks anyway.

I only have a provisional license so can't do it. :( Thanks for the offer, appreciate it.

Unfortunately no one I know has access to a van at all. Didn't think about disassembly, though hopefully wouldn't be to much of an issue.

:)
