Done some work for a local dentist.

Here is the jobs I have done

PC1 - Full Data Backup and restore to new PC including Outlook Emails, Accounts, Contacts - Restore on to newly purchased PC - Data restored, and PC cleaned up from all the rubbish put on.

Installed Printer and Configured printer for wireless

2 hours work - £50

New laptop 1 - Cleanup from all the stuff put on laptops, installed and configured ITunes, Configured printer for Wireless - 1 Hour work - £20

New laptop 2 - Cleanup from all the stuff put on laptops, installed and configured ITunes, Configured printer for Wireless - 1 Hour work - £20

Total = £90

Usually I charge £25 an hour but thought I would give him a slight discount on the two laptops

Does this seem fair?

You can get paid for this?? and all this time ive been doing it for free >_<

Yeah seems ok although I have no experience with this :P

there are silly people in this world for sure, someone paid £90 for 4 hours work, wow

Technically, I have spent around 5 hours on it all due to issues with his old machine, but never mind

£25 an hour is what I would charge, as fixing peoples PC's can sometimes be a lot of hassle for sometimes little pay, I used to charge £15 an hour and just found it wasnt worth my time, so why should I undersell myself when other people are charging around £25 an hour for the privilege

Seems fair for your time. i am surprised that people cant do this themselfs though

You would be surprised at how many people are complete technophobes and would rather just pay someone else to do it for them as they would be there for hours trying to do a windows re-install, or what ever

Even people doing a healthcheck on their own machine think its a brilliant idea to install 2 virus scanners for extra security, plus spyware and adaware scanners which are not even mainstream and just simply **** up your machine.
